Faculty Training Registration and Videos

As part of preparation for planned/unplanned events, you will want to get up to speed on the various tools Canvas provides for moving class sessions online.  

We are offering the following training sessions and their respective videos to quickly get you up to speed with the various tools. To watch each video, as either a refresher or your own self-paced training, please click the links below:

• Canvas Getting Started - Overview of Canvas.  Learn how to access and navigate Canvas.  

• Canvas Adding Content - Learn how to add content to the Canvas course: add a syllabus, create announcements, edit the home page, create an assignment and create and add content to modules.

• Gradebook - Learn how to use the assignment area to set up your gradebook, weight grades, and use the speedgrader feature to grade assignments.

• Discussions - Learn how to utilize the discussion area of Canvas to post discussion questions and hold class discussions online asynchronously.

• Canvas New Quizzes - Learn how to design a quiz within Canvas

• Kaltura Video - Learn how to use Kaltura to record and embed a video within the course.  The recording can be just audio or audio and video. 

• Zoom Conferencing - Learn how to use Zoom integrated within Canvas.  Use Zoom for  live lectures, office hours or exam review.  See the How to Install the Zoom Client Video for install steps. 

• Creating Weekly Learning Outcomes - Geared towards online faculty. Learn how to create measurable and meaningful weekly learning outcomes that are required for your online course.
